A real life pose caught at a relaxed but pensive moment. I attempted and I think succeeded in keeping the lines and marks free from trying to copy the form. I was in tune with seeing the subject and its parts relating to the whole. I was then and remain to this day a complete fan of Singer Saergent's charcoal drawings. Some of the angled strokes are reminiscent of this style.
